Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news outlet has a TV personality, author, and an philanthropist. Originally from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family when she was 16 years old. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. The first non-English student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. After the graduation ceremony, she became an influential conservative syndicated journalist. In the years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to post their views on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna gained fame when she made the decision to contest for a non-partisan position in the California recall vote to succeed the Governor Davis. Additionally, she led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on its top 10 list of Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. In 2012, she became the president of the media division at AOL. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close relationship with father, her relationship to her mom shaped the rest of her life. At an early age, she displayed leadership qualities which are still widely admired. at the age of 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the college debating group Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. She graduated in 1972 with a degree in Economics. She was a journalist, a TV host as well as a columnist following her graduation. In addition, she was a part of the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
