Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality and owner of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and moved to England at the age of sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it at the age of 21. Her success as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online platform for voice that gave critiques of the politics. In part, her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to contest independently for the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. In addition, she led the Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes listed her as the top woman in the field of media in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as 12th on the listing. The Guardian also included her to the list of top 100 media in 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. It included a variety of AOL properties at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. Though she was close to her father, it was her bond with her mother which shaped her character. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. At the age of sixteen, she left America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college, she joined Cambridge Union's college debating societies and eventually was its first female and foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she was a journalist and TV host. In addition, she was a part of the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from him.
